Huawei has unveiled a host of new devices at its "Ride the Wind" launch event held recently in Paris. The Chinese tech brand introduced next-generation smartwatches, a smartphone series, earbuds (HUAWEI FreeBuds 7i) and a tablet as it seeks to blend high-fashion design with cutting-edge health, fitness and creativity features.
New smartwatches for sport and health
The headline announcements included the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Series, WATCH Ultimate 2 and WATCH D2.
The WATCH GT 6 Series is aimed at outdoor fitness enthusiasts, promising a 21-day battery life, precise GPS tracking and advanced health monitoring powered by Huawei’s new TruSense system. It supports over 100 workout modes, with major upgrades to cycling, trail running, golf and skiing. The new cycling mode, for example, introduces a virtual power meter, offering performance insights typically reserved for professional-grade equipment, Huawei believes.

The WATCH Ultimate 2 debuts with a diving depth rating of 150 metres, making it the first smartwatch of its kind to combine this capability alongside audio functionality. It also features sonar-based underwater communication, enabling divers to send messages between devices and trigger SOS signals at depth.
Meanwhile, the WATCH D2 introduces enhanced blood pressure monitoring with features such as regular reminders and ambulatory tracking, alongside a refreshed design in a new blue finish.
Smartphone with focus on portrait photography
Huawei also launched the nova 14 Series, which it says redefines mobile portrait photography. Equipped with an “Ultra Chroma Camera” and enhanced XD Portrait Engine, the device is designed to capture fine detail and colour even in low light.
The phone’s 50MP front-facing camera supports autofocus, dual-camera portrait mode and 5x zoom for selfies, while AI-powered editing tools such as "Best Expression" and "AI Remove" are intended to simplify post-production for users.
MatePad 12 X tablet and new stylus
On the tablet front, the MatePad 12 X PaperMatte Edition was introduced with a glare-reducing display designed for comfortable reading and sketching. It is paired with the new M-Pencil Pro stylus, which offers gesture controls, quick access to notes and seamless brush adjustments for artists.

As part of its focus on creativity, Huawei also announced the continuation of its GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity for 2025. This year’s programme will include categories ranging from narrative art to digital watercolour, sci-fi and experimental works, with a new addition in animation.
Youth-focused branding
Beyond the product launches, Huawei unveiled its refreshed brand slogan, “Now is Yours.” The company said the campaign is designed to strengthen ties with younger consumers, emphasising inclusivity and cultural resonance while presenting technology as “a universal language.”
Huawei said the new direction reflects its ambition to align with global youth culture and foster innovation with a human touch, describing the strategy as “a shared journey into a future of infinite possibilities.”
