Instagram announced a new feature, with users now given the ability to switch between multiple accounts from a single device. This is a feature that the social media platform has been testing out on both iOS and Android devices over the past few weeks, and now it's official.

The move is said to be motivated by the fact that businesses, brands and even pets have embraced the far reaching power of Instagram, with a rise in such profiles on the social media app in recent months.

The update was confirmed on Instagram's blog, stating that account switching will be available on the 7.15 version of the app for iOS and Android users. Setting up is pretty straightforward. Additional accounts are added within the profile settings tab and once the new account is added and active, users will see profile photos of their respective account so they know which one is in use.
