A little over one year ago, hacker Sprite_TM showcased a YouTube video in which a miniature Game Boy was revealed. Now that small project is about to come full circle, with the PocketSprite currently up on Crowd Supply waiting for backers.

At the time of writing, the PocketSprite is at 94% of its funding goal with 41 days still left, which means it's all but certain that the device will fully come to fruition. This version is a bit more polished that 2016's original, but for all intents and purposes it sports the same specifications. These include a 25 x 22 mm OLED screen, 520 KB of RAM, an ESP32 dual-core processor and a lithium-ion battery that gives an undisclosed amount of gameplay.

Housing a built-in emulator, the PocketSprite can play Game Boy, Game Boy Colour, Sega Master System and Game Gear titles, according to its creator Jeroen Domburg. Perhaps the perfect gift for a gamer that has it all, the PocketSprite costs $45 for those that are early bird pledgers on its Crowd Supply page.

Check it in action in the video below.
