Twitter has a few things planned in the coming days. The social media platform took to its blog yesterday to confirm a number of new features it plans to roll out to users over the next week. The company says the features are aimed at delivering greater control with updates to two settings in Twitter in particular.

The first is a tweaking of the notifications within Twitter. To that end, users will be able to limit notifications solely to other Twitter users that they follow. This setting can either be toggled on or off, depending on the user's preference, and will be accessible via the Notifications tab.

The second change is a new option that Twitter has named the quality filter. They tested out the filter in part last year, and now it's ready for mainstream rollout. It is said to "improve the quality you see by using a variety of signals, such as account origin and behavior," according to Twitter. As The Verge notes, such a feature may go a long way in ensuring Twitter accounts that send out abusive or trolling Tweets will crop up far less in user feeds.

Whether these new features will indeed make Twitter a 'safer space' for its users, remains to be seen.
