Legacy of the Void cinematic showcases Protoss' fighting spirit
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 14 September 2015 | Categories: newsAnyone familiar with the StarCraft franchise, and Blizzard in particular for that matter, knows that the cinematic cutscenes for their games are the stuff of legend. Whether or not this latest one will join the iconic status of its peers remains to be seen, but it does showcase the fight between the Protoss and Swarm for the final installment of StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void.
The trailer features a band of Protoss Zealots and High Templars, now refugees following the events of the previous installment, Heart of the Swarm, taking on a horde of Zerg. For those unfamiliar, the alien Protoss race are Spartan-like beings that also feature a telekinetic connection with one another called the Khala.
This third expansion of the game arrives on 10 November. For those wondering if getting the game requires purchasing or installing either the Wings of Liberty or Heart of the Swarm iterations for StarCraft II, Blizzard says Legacy of the Void will work as a standalone title on Windows PC or Mac OS X.
