Magnificent Seven teaser trailer debuts
By Staff Writer 21 April 2016 | Categories: newsIf you were wondering where your next Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) fix will be coming from, look no further. A teaser trailer has been released for The Magnificent Seven, a movie which had at least two incarnations previously. One, Seven Samurai, was done by one of the masters of cinema, Akira Kurosawa, so, you know, no pressure.
A small town in the west is being terrorised by a rather large group of thugs. The towns folk are desperate for help and set out to hire mercenaries to fight on their behalf. A posse of seven needs to be put together by a moustachioed Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington, who apparently never departed with his nickel-plated Colt .45 Peacemaker during filming), soon also employing Josh Farraday (Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke) and a deadly bunch of others.
Helming the director’s chair is Antoine Fuqua, who worked with Washington and Hawke on Training Day and more recently did duty on Olympus has Fallen.
The Magnificent Seven remake certainly looks like a romp, with our favourite quote coming from the widow (Haley Bennett, Hardcore Henry): “I seek righteousness, but I will take revenge.”
The movie is currently in post-production and if all goes well will hit the big-screen come 23 September Stateside. Check the trailer below for some cowboy action.
