Along with Devil May Cry, another much loved older franchise making a very welcome return is Resident Evil. Leading the charge is Resident Evil  2 Remastered and judging by the latest trailer, and how good it looks, we are actually glad we didn’t manage to play it on the older console on which it first debuted.

Suffice to say, the trailer hits all the right notes - mutated monsters, dark spooky environments, some well loved characters, and, a sense of mounting tension. Indeed, the trailer also hints at a staple of good horror - where a good man turns into something terrible - in this case a virologist with a young daughter. Instead of being a doting father, she has to contend with/escape from a rampaging thing with a giant eyeball in its shoulder.

The trailer also reminds a bit of one of the more successful or guilty pleasure videogame to movie adaptations, that of the original Resident Evil with Milla Jovovich.
