New Stranger Things video details the fate of Barb
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 1 November 2016 | Categories: newsIf you've watched Stranger Things, the fate of awkward, mom jean-wearing but loveable Barbara Holland (Shannon Purser) should be all too familiar. In fact, the events surrounding her role in the hit Netflix show even prompted a meme aptly titled Justice for Barb.
As a meta-nod to the character, Netflix has a released a new video in usual Stranger Things fashion. Taking the guise of an 80s news report by fictional station 5 WIYZ Hawkins, it details the disappearance of Barb in a rather eerie manner. The reporter, Brenda Wood, knows about private conversations between Barb and Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer), as well as having an image of Barb in the last items of clothing she was seen in.
Wood, then moves on from Barb to discuss an incident at a Bradley's Big But store, in which a young girl stole an "unprecedented amount of Eggo Waffles." That young girl is of course Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), who can be seen in the security footage 5 WIYZ obtained from the store.
Whether or not the creators will indeed provide Justice for Barb remains to be seen, but the second season of Stranger Things is one we're definitely diarising. Hit play on the video below and enjoy another trip to the 80s.
