Serial leaker Evan Blass already revealed that the upcoming Huawei Mate 10 Lite is going from three cameras to four. This thanks to two 2 MP cameras that combines with the 16 MP rear and 13 MP front cameras. Now Blass has tweeted images of Huawei Mate 10 Pro, a phone that he believes is generating quite a bit of excitement, although being polarising in regards to looks.

Available in three colours, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro sports a vertical camera alignment, much like the new iPhone X. With a 6” screen- to-screen display, very little bezel and an 18:9 display ratio (like the new LG G6), Blass states that the Pro will have 12 and 20 MP Leica cameras on the back, with an 8 MP front facing unit.

The Pro will come with Huawei’s own Kirin 970 chipset, 6 GB of RAM, a 4000 mAh battery and either 64 GB or 128 GB storage. All in all, a pretty high specced machine then.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro joins the Mate 10 Lite and the 10 Pro standard version as the three models in the new Mate series. The phones are due for reveal on 16 October, with an event scheduled in Munich, Germany.

On Friday, Huawei teased more about the phones’ new mobile artificial intelligence system, with a video proclaiming that, “This is not a smartphone. This is an intelligent machine”. Hype or reality? We’ll find out on the 16th.
