New trailer for Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur appears
By Staff Writer 23 January 2017 | Categories: newsIf Guy Ritchie can do for King Arthur what he did for Sherlock Holmes, well, we should be in for a treat. After the first trailer for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword appeared at Comic-Con last year, a new one has now made an appearance online. More of a teaser than a full-fledged trailer, we do get to see more of the action that is lying in wait.
The movie stars Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) as a young Arthur, who despite his reputation around the back alleys of Londonium, manages to pull the magical Excalibur from the stone – a sign that he is the true king of England. Of course this doesn’t sit well with the current ruler, Vortigern (Jude Law, The Grand Budapest Hotel), who is not simply going to give up the throne.
According to IMDB, Hunnam was so keen for the role of Arthur, that he offered to fight the other two actors on the shortlist – Superman (Henry Cavill) and the bloke from Terminator Genisys (Jai Courtney). Fortunately (or unfortunately some might say) this didn’t come to pass, since Hunnam aced his auditions.
We’re quite keen on this one, and there’s not too much time left to wait since King Arthur: Legend of the Sword will start screening in South Africa come 12 May.
