New trailer for King's Man sees light of day
By Staff Writer 2 October 2019 | Categories: news2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service was a surprising romp, introducing us to the eponymous spy organisation and showing that a gentleman is not necessarily a gentle man. The follow-up never really reached the heights of the first movie, so hopefully 2020’s The King's Man will put the franchise back on track.
The second trailer for the movie has now dropped, showing a lot more of what’s in store. Set before and during the horrors of the Great War, King’s Man covers all the major role players involved in this intricate political chessboard of Europe.
Harris Dickinson (Beach Rats) stars as the hot new recruit into the world’s first independent intelligence agency, getting, of course, a suit for his efforts. The ensemble cast also features a number of our favourites, including Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill) as the deceitful Rasputin, Gemma Arterton (The Girl with All the Gifts) as current Kingsman member Polly, alongside colleague Djimon Hounsou (Captain Marvel) as Shola. Ralph Fiennes plays the Duke of Oxford, a gentleman of many skills, of which falling out of the sky is certainly a less explored one.
The director’s chair once again belongs to Matthew Vaughn, who, as on the previous two movies, also has writing credit for story. Our favourite part of the trailer? Black Sabbath playing in the background, with the lyrics of War Pigs still ringing true today.
Hit play below to see what chaos lies in store for the third instalment.
