Nitro 50 is Acer's new desktop offering for casual gamers
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 24 May 2018 | Categories: newsAcer's 2018 GPC took place yesterday, with the company's Predator hardcore gaming lineup and multi-purpose Swift offerings getting much of the limelight, but the company's range of Nitro devices are well worth mentioning too. One of the newer products is the Nitro 50 desktop PC, which Acer bills as a device for those that want to do some casual gaming, but don't wish to invest in something more expensive.
As far as design goes, the Nitro 50 has a few earmarks of a gaming desktop PC, with its angular front grille and the industry go-to colourway of black and red. When it comes to processor setup, Acer will have two options available depending on the region, with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 CPU on the table.
There's also a choice for the GPU, with either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card to choose from. Like the CPU, there'll likely be region dependency for the GPU Acer offers users.
Other features include up to 64 GB dual-channel DDR4 memory, with a Dragon LAN system available for those who want to take their gaming online. Another handy aspect is the wireless charging pad sitting atop the tower and support for Sound Blaster X 360 audio.
No recommended local pricing or availability on the Nitro 50 from Acer just yet.
