Microsoft is bringing its Party Chat feature to the Xbox iOS and Android apps. The company had tested it out in their beta apps, and now Xbox Live users will be able to communicate with their friends via text or voice without the use or need to sign into their console's profile.

As The Verge points out, it now gives the Xbox app similar functionality to that of Discord. Added to this, it can also allow gamers to chat during gaming sessions without the use of their headset. While we haven't tested that aspect out, it probably won't deliver the same sound clarity compared to a dedicated headset.

With titles like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds now available on the Xbox One, it should serve as a good test of Party Chat's capabilities.
