Periscope now lets users permanently save their videos
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 5 May 2016 | Categories: newsIf you open up Periscope today, you'll likely see a big change. Last night the live streaming service's CEO, Kayvon Beykpour announced that users will be able to permanently save their videos. It's an option that rival platform Facebook Live has had for some time now, and one that we're sure Periscope users will be happy to see added.
Previously, Periscope videos were only archived for 24 hours before being lost. Now, users can simply save their videos be typing #Save in the title of the video.
While this newly added feature is live, Beykpour noted that it is public beta, as Periscope is hoping for user feedback regarding how effectively it enhances platform control. This move could potentially have a far reaching effect in drawing in more brands and companies to use Periscope, according to Techcrunch.
The website says many professional content creators have been turned off by the fact that their work would only last for 24 hours on the platform. Now, Techcrunch believes the ability to permanently save videos means there is a far greater yield from their efforts.
