With more gamers taking to PCs and consoles to get their fix, Nintendo's 3DS is still carrying the torch for handheld gaming (not counting the millions of smartphones that is). As such, Nintendo has confirmed that Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon will be coming to the handheld platform later this year.

The Pokemon gaming franchise is vast, with a number of different titles out there. The gaming franchise is most popular in its native Japan, which is most likely why Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is launching in the Land of the Rising Sun first. Nintendo will be debuting the title in Japan in Spring this year. It will then be brought to the States before the year's end, before making its way to Europe in early 2016.

As for when South African Pokemon fanatics can get their hands on the action, nothing has been confirmed as of yet. For now, SA gamers can take solace in the fact that this new title will be treated to a newly designed dungeon each time they play the game, as well as giving Pokemon fans the chance to battle alongside both legendary and new mystery Pokemon
