CES, held in Las Vegas last week, claimed some interesting victims in the form of quite spectacular three-screened gaming notebooks from Razer. Dubbed Project Valerie, the company believes the notebooks, each with three 4K screens, are a world first, which made it an alluring target for thieves. In fact, two models disappeared from the Razer booth on Sunday, according to the BBC.

As one can imagine this has caused quite a consternation for Razer, with chief executive Min-Liang Tan noting on a Facebook post, “We treat theft/larceny, and if relevant to this case, industrial espionage, very seriously – it is cheating, and cheating doesn’t sit well with us.”

However, can it be that the stolen notebooks have already been found? Wccf (Where Consumers Come First) tech believes they have spotted the notebooks online, being sold in mainland China for a sweet $21 733 each.

We suppose trying to get sell these stolen two 3x4K prototypes online ensures you have the largest market, but it can also put the cops on your tail pretty quickly. Were these then just regular thieves trying to make the most from their CES experience, and, hopefully for Razer, not a case of industrial espionage?

Well done for Wccf tech for finding the Project Valerie prototypes, we hope you guys can grab a part of the $25 000 reward on offer from Razer.
