Samsung's 2017 trio of Galaxy A devices arrive in SA
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 2 February 2017 | Categories: newsAs far as Samsung's mobile devices go, the still-under-wraps Galaxy S8 has been drawing most of the attention, but for fans of premium mid-range phones, the 2017 Galaxy A series trio has arrived locally. The South Korean manufacturer first showed the offerings at CES in January, and now all three are on sale in South Africa - the Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3.
All three devices sport very similar specs, marked too by a design that carries through each of the differently sized phones. For example, all three have 32 GB onboard storage, with a microSD slot good for an additional 256 GB of space. The 5.7" A7 and 5.2" A5 also share 3 GB of RAM, an octa-core 1.9 GHz processor, 16 MP primary shooter and Full HD displays up front. The 4.7" A3 is the lesser specced of all three, with a HD display, 13 MP camera on the rear and 2 GB RAM. All three, however, have an IP68-rated waterproofness and dust resistance, as well as a fingerprint scanner and LTE (Cat 6) compatibility.
If you're considering any one of the 2017 Galaxy A devices, Samsung Mobile SA's recommended pricing is as follows:
Galaxy A7 - R9 499
Galaxy A5 - R7 499
Galaxy A3 - R5 999
