Sandisk announces 400 GB microSD card to solve smartphone storage problems
By Staff Writer 1 September 2017 | Categories: newsOne place where Android has Apple beat is the ability to simply pop a microSD card into your phone to expand storage. Now while most people might be satisfied with an extra 64 GB, Sandisk will now cater for those who consider it wise to carry their HD movie library around with them.
Its latest offering is the 400 GB Ultra microSDXC UHS-I card, available at what seems like a decent price - $250. 400 GB should be enough for 40 hours of Full HD flicks, while file transfer takes place at 100MB/s, enough to move 1200 photos per minute according to the company.
The new offering is the highest-capacity microSD card currently available, and comes two years after the 200 GB version, which held the record for storage at the time.
There is no word yet on a local release date or price, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we know.
