A new trailer for Terminator: Genisys has been released. Consider yourself warned though, as the movie will not be entirely the Terminator you remember, with the trailer hinting at a massive change to the Terminator story.

Granted, there are quite a few nods to the original movies – with this time, Sarah Connor getting to spout the famous “Come with me if you want to live” line, and Arnie reprising his role, naturally promising that he’ll be back. Then of course the T-1000 also makes Sarah’s life hell again.

But the real shocker is how the movie veers from the familiar, showing John Connor in an entirely new light, and as a very unexpected, formidable foe in his own right. In the original movies, John was largely a character in the background, mentioned, alluded to as the future rebel leader, and only given a bit more screen time in the third entry in the franchise.

It looks like Genisys is going to be doing something very different, pushing Sarah Connor and her relationship with her son front and centre, in present day, rather than leaving him in the post-apocalyptic future.   

In the interest of remaining spoiler free though, and honoring that there is no fate but what you make, we will leave it up to you to determine whether you are destined to watch the trailer below, or remain blissfully unaware of the big change.
