Sonic receiving game in 2017 to mark his 25th anniversary

The game is reportedly going to be a special edition version, marking his 25th anniversary this year. Gematsu relayed the news via game developer Takashi Iizuka, at a recent Japanese celebration for the video game character.
While the finer details of the game itself are unknown, Iizuka noted that more information would be forthcoming at Comic-Con this year (22 July). The Sonic-themed event will be live streamed for fans that wish to stay in the loop.
