Suicide Squad embraces their funny side in latest trailer
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 11 April 2016 | Categories: newsThe MTV Movie Awards happened last night, where Star Wars: The Force Awakens took home Best Movie. While there were plenty more questionable award categories, such as Best True Story and Best On-Screen Duo, we were far more interested in the new trailers that debuted. Specifically, Suicide Squad, which is perhaps now the most highly anticipated DC film, given Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice's (review) poor critical reception.
This latest trailer is as action packed as the other ones to date, but the tone is far different, as the team of anti-heroes seem to be having a good time despite all the chaos and destruction around them. The new trailer is likely in response to the public's criticism of Dawn of Justice being too dark and sombre for a superhero movie. Added to this the success of Deadpool (review), which has proven that an R-rating and a twisted sense of humour can make any superhero movie good.
Suicide Squad will likely hit local cinemas on 5 August, which means there are still opportunities for more trailers to come our way. Until then, click play on the latest one below.
