Teaser for Netflix's Death Note live action movie arrives
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 23 March 2017 | Categories: NewsIf you're a anime fan, a season or two of Death Note was likely in rotation. If you enjoyed the anime series, then the forthcoming Netflix live action movie version should be of interest. Luckily a teaser video recently debuted for us to enjoy.
Staying fairly true (whitewashing complaints aside) to the source material, Netflix's Death Note stars Nat Wolff (Paper Towns) as Light Turner (Light Yagami in the anime), the genius level protagonist that receives the power to choose who lives and dies via a mysterious notebook. The other notable character for this movie adaptation is Ryuk, the demon that carries out Turner's instructions and plays an almost devil's advocate-like role in the anime series variant. Ryuk is also voiced by Willem Dafoe (The Grand Budapest Hotel), who we glimpse from the shadows in the teaser below.
Set to release on 25 August, hopefully we'll get to see more of what this movie has in store with more videos from Netflix. Until then, hit play on the video below and enjoy.
