The Addams Family gets cartoon movie update
By Staff Writer 8 August 2019 | Categories: newsThe Addams Family have gone through many incarnations since starting off as cartoons from the pen of Charles Addams in 1938. The latest is full length animated movie from directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, the duo responsible for 2016’s outrageous Sausage Party.
Since we grew up with the 1991 flick, it would be difficult to think of anyone else replacing the likes of Anjelica Huston and the awesome Christina Ricci. Nonetheless, the voice cast contains some big names, including Charlize Theron (Morticia Addams), Oscar Isaac (Gomez Addams), Bette Midler (Grandma), and, in an unlikely turn of events, Snoop Dogg as Cousin Itt who speaks only gibberish.
Set for a 25 October release, The Addams Family is hopefully a comedic romp through an updated 2019 world, which from the trailer looks like fun. How much fun remains to be seen on release, but with Vernon and Tiernan onboard it might just be that we’re in for a treat.
