Tired of Transformers? Enter Bumblebee.
By Staff Writer 7 June 2018 | Categories: newsWith every new movie that appears it feels like the Transformers empire is flogging a dead horse. Having said that, Transformers: The Last Knight still cashed in at the box office, so that’s why a Transformers 7 is set to appear in 2019.
In the meantime, Transformers are doing the same as Star Wars with their franchise, now focusing on individual stories. The first to get his own? The humble Bumblebee. This Volksie is on the run and in 1987 it seems like the best place to hide is a Californian junkyard. He gets picked up by Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld, True Grit), who soon finds out there’s more to this hunk of junk than she might have bargained for.
Our hope for the movie lies in John Cena (Trainwreck), who plays Agent Burns in charge of Sector Seven, a government agency on the hunt for the yellow bug. Will he be enough, however, to save this Herby remake?
Bumblebee is the first Transformers movie not directed by Michael Bay, instead taking the helm is Travis Knight, best known for his work on the awesome Kubo and the Two Strings. The movie is set for release on 21 December 2018, just before Christmas.
