Xbox pulled no punches at Gamescom last night, debuting a number of trailers that had attendees clamouring for more. Here are the Top 5 debut Xbox trailers from Gamescom for you to enjoy.

Dark Souls III

From Software and Bandai Namco have clearly tapped into gamer's innate masochism, particularly if the brutal gameplay reveal trailer for Dark Souls III is anything to go by. Having just barely survived its predecessor, Dark Souls II (review), this reception this trailer received at Gamescom is evidence that we're all gluttons for punishment.

Forza Motorsport 6

It has been a while since we saw anything new from Gran Turismo, and the wannabe Speed Racer's of the world need something to satisfy their appetites. As such, Forza Motorsport 6 steps in, and is the most expansive title in the franchise to date, according to developer's Turn 10 Studios. Here, we see the realistic wet weather conditions of the game.

Halo Wars 2

Arguably getting the biggest cheer on the night, despite only being on screen for 80 seconds, Xbox closed the event with a debut teaser trailer for Halo Wars 2. If the teaser is anything to go by, it appears as if mankind is definitely on the ropes. A strategy game that aims to expand the Halo universe, Halo Wars 2 arrives in Spring 2016 (Southern Hemisphere).

Just Cause 3

Square Enix has done its best to provide a concrete storyline for Just Cause 3, but quite frankly, it really doesn't need one. Our parachuting hero with a penchant for destruction, Rico, is taking down a corrupt leader the only way he knows how - with explosions. With that, please direct your attention to the trailer below, and the let the insanity commence.

Homefront: The Revolution

One of the more interesting debuts from last night was Homefront: The Revolution, where the US has been invaded by a foreign enemy. We're sure that there is more to the storyline, but the trailer below showcases gameplay slightly similar to that of Watch Dogs, with the only exception being the first-person orientation. As such, it will prove intriguing to see how Homefront differentiates itself from the original that debuted in 2011.
