Twitter adds video recording and sharing to Direct Messages
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 18 February 2016 | Categories: newsWhile Twitter is dealing with a drop in new subscriber sign-ups, the social media platform is still hard at work on bringing a range of services full circle. The latest of these is video recording on sharing, which until now has been limited to use when Tweeting to one's entire following. Now the ability to record and share videos has been integrated into Twitter's Direct Messages feature. As such, video-addicted Twitter users should be very happy with the enhancement.

The feature is set to roll out to both iOS and Android users globally over the next few days. The new addition will work differently on mobile and desktop versions of the app. On the mobile version, users will be able to record and share from within the app itself. On the desktop variant, twitter.com, one can share videos, but recording cannot be done directly from the website.
While some might feel a little short changed in that regard, it looks more like a move to up the mobile power of the Twitter app, as alternating instant messaging services like Facebook Messenger have already launched a similar offering.
