The time for gamers to take up their vigil as the new Pathfinder is fast approaching, with the cross-platform release of Mass Effect: Andromeda dated for 17 or 21 March (depending on region). While anticipation for the game needs no further hype, developer BioWare has still decided to treat us to a new cinematic trailer.

It not only lays out the role of the protagonist (either one of the Ryder siblings), but also the part that Archon, the game's main threat plays,, as well as some of the crew you'll be fighting alongside.

Added to this, a second trailer has found its way online, this one a little less official, as it does not feature on the Mass Effect YouTube page just yet. It does, however, look legit and features an explanation of the Hyperion ship's mission at the beginning of the game, along with an introduction to some of the key crew members aboard.

One of the biggest titles for 2017, the pressure is on for Andromeda to match the heights that the trilogy of past games in the franchise delivered. Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to land on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
