VS Gaming will be holding it’s DOTA 2 Grand Final this weekend, 28-30 July at EGE in Cape Town. With a total prize pool of R550 000 this is one of the largest of its kind in South Africa. 

“In the past we have held our DOTA 2 and CS:GO finals together but this year we have decided to give our DOTA 2 clans an exclusive stage because of this partnering with EGE. This way we can bring VS Gaming to Cape Town and allow our DOTA 2 clans to battle it out on centre stage,” says Cambridge Mokanyane, CEO of VS Gaming. 

The teams competing this weekend are:

The prize pool breakdown is as follows:

  • 1st - R220 000
  • 2nd - R99 000
  • 3rd - R55 000
  • 4th - R44 000
  • 5th - R38 500
  • 6th - R38 500
  • 7th - R27 500
  • 8th - R27 500

The lineup for the weekend includes panel host Nicholas 'WilsonXXXL' Marsicano, along with experts Chanel ' Succubus' van der Merwe and Sean 'Snare' Rihlamvu. The casting duos are Devin 'Hellbird' Rigotti and Jackie 'Rainz' Chung and Jonathan 'Jubba' Simon and Jeanot 'Skaapie' Beetge. Gareth 'Lord Roshford' Woods and Ryan 'Parker' Macquet will be hosting the event from the stage.

“We are excited to be partnering with EGE this year. It is partnerships like this that show we are dedicated to making esports accessible and enjoyable for gamers and spectators alike. We will continue to work with other organisations to grow the esports market and make it inspirational, profitable, and professional for all involved,” concludes Mokanyane.

All matches will be streamed live on the VS Gaming YouTube channel.
