Vodacom reveals My5 value added service for prepaid customers
By Staff Writer 21 August 2013 | Categories: newsLocal mobile operator Vodacom has announced its new value added service (VAS) for prepaid customers dubbed My5. My5 offers one hour of talk time, unlimited texting to any network, as well as data allocation to prepaid clients for as little as R6.
The service is part of Vodacom Free4Sho customer promotion that provides guaranteed free benefits to prepaid customers. It is offered as a bolt-on service to Vodacom4Less and Daily Free Calls prepaid plans.
In order to enjoy the benefits of the My5 daily bundles, customers must first link at least one Vodacom number by dialling *111*5# and following the prompts. Prepaid customers can also purchase My5 bundles, change links and check balances by dialling *111*5#.

“Power Hour proved to be very popular with our customers, so we’ve built on this model by adding SMS and data and made it a permanent offer for our prepaid customers,” said Phil Patel, Chief Officer of Vodacom’s Consumer Business Unit.
“The idea is for our prepaid customer to choose 5 people that they interact with more frequently and register them on the My5 service so they can enjoy the benefit of talking to them for a full hour any time of day. The most exciting part is that this is not a promotion but a permanent value added service on two of our popular prepaid price plans: Vodacom4Less and Daily Free Calls. With this offer, we’re living up to our promise of giving our customers guaranteed free benefits from Vodacom Free4Sho,” Patel added.
