Wolverine and X-23 pop their claws in first trailer for Logan
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 20 October 2016 | Categories: NewsLogan, which releases in cinemas in March next year, will likely be Hugh Jackman's last stint as the Wolverine. While many thought the Old Man Logan comic book series would be adapted for this series, this recently released trailer hints at Marvel going a slightly different direction.
For this film, Wolverine is far older, although precisely how much is unclear. He's also one of the last surviving members of the X-Men, if his words in the opening few seconds are to be believed. "Mutants. They're gone now," he tells Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). The pair are also joined by a young girl whose name is not mentioned, but Xavier does mention she is like Wolverine.
As such, she's likely X-23, the female clone of Logan. Whether or not the pair will come to blows remains to be seen though, but for now it appears as if Wolverine and Xavier are trying to keep her safe from a yet unnamed organisation.
While we may be reading a bit much into one trailer, this Wolverine film looks far better than the two previous attempts. That said, X-Men Origins was never going to be hard to beat. Hit play on the trailer after the break to see a grey and battle scarred Wolverine.
