Zack Snyder steps down from post-production duties on Justice League
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 23 May 2017 | Categories: NewsThe filming portion for DC's Justice League movie is in the can, but the CGI heavy project is still in post-production as its 16 November release date edges closer. Sadly though, director Zack Snyder has had to step away from the project, after recently suffering the loss of his daughter.
The tragic incident, which happened in March this year, had a greater effect on the director than he initially anticipated. “In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was the way through it,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview.
Coming in to oversee the remainder of the project is Joss Whedon (Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron), who is also set to write and direct a standalone Batgirl movie for DC. Whedon is said to only be handling the post-production elements of the film, but whether or not he will be involved in the press and media tours following Justice League's release, remains to be seen.
