Call of Duty Black Ops out tonight
By Staff Writer 8 November 2010 | Categories: newsOne of the most anticipated titles of the year, Activision and Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, will be launching tonight at midnight at selected stores nationwide.
The stores that will be holding midnight launches include:
BT Games: East Rand Mall, Fourways, Menlyn, Cavendish, Tyger Vally, Canal Walk, Pavilion.
ZAPS: Bright Water Commons - Randburg.
Games-Xetra: Wildro Park (Join them for a braai), Northgate, Durbanville.
According to Megarom Interactive, distributor of the title in SA, pre-orders on the title have exceeded those of previous Call of Duty titles.
The single-player campaign of Black Ops is set during the Cold War and takes players deep behind enemy lines as an elite Black Ops soldier engaging in covert warfare, classified operations, and explosive conflicts across the globe. South African Internet Service Provider MWEB, has announced a partnership with Gameservers.com to exclusively host local Call of Duty: Black Ops servers for multiplayer action.
One of the aspects of the game we’re looking forward to the most is the so called Zombie Mode where one will be able step into the shoes of none other than former presidents of the United States, John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon, as well as former secretary of defence Robert McNamara and Cuban leader Fidel Castro to fight zombies in the Pentagon.
There is also 'Dead Ops Arcade', an unlockable round-based arcade mode that will see players cooperatively clearing out waves of zombies, but this time from a top down perspective.
Call of Duty: Black Ops features the Hollywood voice talent of Gary Oldman and Ed Harris. Publisher Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is in development and should see release next year.
