DStv Premium subscribers will now have the chance to view the earth and all its wonders in up to five times more detail than before, with Discovery HD Showcase making its debut today on channel 172.

The channel won’t only offer selected programming from existing Discovery channels in high definition, but will also feature programmes that will only be available on Discovery HD Showcase.

MultiChoice also announced SuperSport HD two weeks back and plan to launch it on 26 December. “This latest addition demonstrates our commitment to growing our HD offering on DStv. Our Premium subscribers will now enjoy a wider scope of HD content, covering Sport, Documentary and general entertainment from the three HD channels” says Nico Meyer, CEO of MultiChoice South Africa.

To access DStv’s three HD channels, you require a HD PVR decoder and a HDTV (full HD or HD ready). You’ll also need to be a DStv Premium subscriber and will need a Satellite installation (minimum twin LNB).
