Gears of War 3 announcement on Monday?
Leading game design director for Epic Games, Cliff Bleszinski was due to appear on the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon tomorrow. Bleszinski announced via his Twitter page, however, that he’ll only be appearing on the show next Monday so that the guys at Epic Games can work on the title he was due to announce on the show for a little while longer. “The truth of the matter is that we wanted to take a couple more days to polish what we’re showing,” Bleszinski wrote. “Sorry all, appreciate your patience!”

Gaming without consoles
Hideo Kojima (creator of the Metal Gear Solid series) stared into his crystal-ball and saw that “in the near future, we’ll have games that don’t depend on any platform.” Speaking at a news conference in Tokyo, he went on to say, “gamers should be able to take the experience with them in their living rooms, on the go, when they travel -- wherever they are and whenever they want to play. It should be the same software and the same experience.” Most of the games in the MGS series are only available on Sony platforms, such as the PlayStation 3. “It’s a bold prediction,” said SCEJ president Hiroshi Kawano of Kojima’s prophecy. “We hope he continues to develop for platforms, but we deeply respect his sense of taking on a challenge.”
