Google today launched a new beta version of its Chrome web browser, which integrates additional privacy controls for users, as well as Google’s translation functionality amongst others. It is free to download here.

The new version of Chrome allows for more control over your privacy as you browse the internet, with every facet of your settings managed in the new ‘Content Settings’ section of Chrome’s Privacy Options dialog box.

Browser cookies, images, JavaScript, plug-ins, and pop-ups can also be better controlled. New cookie rules for example allow cookies only for trusted sites while blocking cookies from websites you don’t trust. Other notable new features include the ability to automatically clear all cookies when the browser closes, and the selection of website for which images and JavaScript are allowed to load for.

If permitted Chrome will automatically translate all the pages you visit to your own language. Finally, the new Chrome beta will supply you with a link to the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager, where you are able to view and control the local objects that Adobe Flash stores on your PC.
