Apple has some iconic pieces of technology in its ranks, like the iPod, iPhone and of course the Macintosh PCs that kicked everything off. One of its more memorable offerings is the iMac, which debuted as an All-In-One desktop device two decades ago. It was one of the first devices that Steve Jobs unveiled when he made his return to Apple as its CEO, with the design and operating system in particular standing out for a lot of consumers.

Now it's time to pay homage to the iMac, which in its 20 years has evolved into the iMac Pro as Apple's latest and greatest.

Current Apple CEO, Tim Cook took to Twitter to highlight the anniversary, also releasing a video of Steve Jobs on stage with the original iMac. Watching the clip, it's clear that the press conference for the iMac helped set the tone for how Apple would handle many of its significant device reveals moving forward.

It's unclear if Apple has any further plans to celebrate the iMac on its 20th birthday, but we for one would love to see a limited edition version of the iMac Pro released in the signature colourway and translucent body of the original. Perhaps that's just wishful thinking though.
