When it came to superhero movies last year, Deadpool reigned supreme, serving up gratuitous violence, plenty of genitalia jokes and poking fun at comic book movie tropes at the same time. Garnering massive revenue and multiple awards, the sequel Deadpool flick is eagerly awaited, and now we know when it will be hitting cinemas.

According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), Deadpool 2 will be released on 1 June 2018. The finer details on the plot of the film are not known at this stage, but it will feature Cage, who will be played by  Josh Brolin, who will also be voicing Thanos in Marvel's upcoming Infinity War films.

Along with Deadpool 2, 20th Century Fox, which owns the rights to the character, is also set to release the New Mutants and Dark Phoenix films during 2018 too, releasing either side of the Merc with the mouth's return.
