Horror fans - Netflix’s Apostle gets first trailer
By Staff Writer 19 September 2018 | Categories: newsDan Stevens first appeared on our radar as David Haller in Legion, and had us thinking that this is an actor we would like to see more of in something a bit more hard-core. Well Netflix is giving us that chance, and by all accounts, or at least by looking at this first trailer, Apostle is going to be a wild ride.
A man (Stevens) goes out to rescue his sister who has taken her place in a religious cult. Standing at the top of the congregation is a leader (Michael Sheen) who seems to be quite fond of trepanning and also doesn’t mind treating congregants to tree climbing lessons.
Apostle appears like a bit of a descent into madness, as Stevens seemingly soon has to confront not just the real, but also the unreal, as he gets into contact with the supernatural.
Directed by Welshman Gareth Evans, who was responsible for the awesomely action-packed The Raid, Apostle can hopefully add to Netflix’s dwindling movie roster, something the company has come under fire for recently.
Apostle is out on 12 October 2018 on Netflix, and hopefully it is good enough to make us true believers.
