We think we may have this year's Razzie award winner for movie of the year in the bag, with a trailer for The Meg landing online. The film features Brit tough guy Jason Statham (Snatch) as he takes on an giant shark, a.k.a the famed Megalodon.  

The massive sea creature has been extinct for thousands of years, but appears like Hollywood's obsession with this predator shows no signs of dissipating. Joining Statham for this action packed summer blackbuster are Ruby Rose (John Wick 2), Li Bingbing (Transformers: Age of Extinction) and Rainn Wilson (The Office US), with the latter offering up some handy one liners to cut through all the explosions, shark's teeth and blood. 

Where The Meg will land in the pantheon of shark films remains to be seen, but we'd venture to guess that it will fall somewhere between Jaws and Deep Blue Sea.
