Less than a month ago, LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner showcased a preview of the company's newly redesigned mobile app. Now the fully fledged commercial version is available for download on iOS or Android. According to Recode, LinkedIn have been working on this mobile app for roughly six months, with a focus on streamlining and decluttering the app itself.

The app now features five distinct tabs, pooling information into "larger buckets" as Recode terms it, with the end goal of making it far more user friendly. One of the new tabs integrated into this redesign is a private instant messaging tool, offering users a quicker means of communicating over the app's predecessor, InMail. The move to create an in-app IM seems a logical one, as more popular apps like Facebook and Twitter have had that for some time now.

As such, the new LinkedIn app has a bit of catch up to do, so it should be interesting to see how users' respond to the redesign over the next few months. Click on the video below to hear developers talk about the scale of the LinkedIn app redesign.
