In the past couple years, we've seen a number of old animated favourites make the leap from their original format to live-action versions. Disney is currently doing so, with The Jungle Book and Beauty & The Beast, as well as the Archie comics being adapted into the Riverdale teen drama series.

Now it appears to be The Jetsons' turn, with TVLine reporting that Warner Bros. is attempting to develop a live-action version of the series for television. It's not the first time an animated series from Hanna-Barbera has gone the live-action route, doing so for The Flintstones and Scooby-Doo is the past. This would, however, be one of the first times that Hanna-Barbera did so for a TV series.

While we're unsure what kind of audience would be attracted to such a project, Warner Bros.  appears to have a few big names attached to the development. Oscar winning director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future) is being mentioned as a producer, with Sausage Party's Conrad Vernon considered as a director.

As for who'll be playing George Jetson and his family, no names have been floated just yet.
