Craving a new series to binge watch? Netflix may have the answer in the form Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Much like the books it's based on, as well as the 2004 film, the series follows the the ill-fated Baudelaire orphans, whose parents died in a tragic fire. Sent to live with their Count Olaf (played by Neil Patrick Harris), things go from bad to worse.

With a devoted set of fans, the series should certainly pique the interest of many when it arrives on Netflix on 13 January next year, with eight episodes in the first season according to IMDB. Whether a second one arrives remains to be seen.

Also unclear is how well Neil Patrick Harris can match the tour de force performance of Jim Carrey in the 2004 film. Until then, hit play on the video below and enjoy.
