The result of a bet between one of the company's hardware engineers and its CEO, according to Nvidia's Matt Wuebbling, the new 2016 Titan X GPU is the first from the American company to tout 11 teraflops (FP32) of processing power. Added to this, is 12 GB of GDDR5X memory, and the awe-inspiring numbers don't stop there. 

Nvidia says it's the biggest GPU they've ever built, housing 12 billion transistors in all, along with 3584 cores at 1.53 GHz. As such, it betters the previous model in every respect (3072 cores at 1.08 GHz in the previous Titan X), as well as price. 

The 2016 Titan X's predecessor sold for $1 000, but this new model will retail for $1 200 when it debuts in the US and Europe on 2 August. As for when Asian and African regions will be able to purchase the new Titan X, Nvidia is yet to release the desired info.
