PES 2016 free to play now on PC
By Staff Writer 5 February 2016 | Categories: newsIn their derby against arch rivals FIFA, Konami has now made the PC version of the free-to-play PES 2016 edition available. Back in December it went live for the PS3 and PS4, and now the scaled down entry-level PES experience has filtered through to Steam.
Okay, so you’re not getting all the bells and whistles, but the free version does provide Exhibition Mode complete with the choice of seven teams including Bayern Munich, Juventus, AS Roma, Brazil and France. The free-to-play game also allows users to experience PES 2016’s online and offline play, and unlimited access to the myClub mode (check video below) wherein players use accrued in-game currency and micro-transactions to build a title-winning team.
Konami has included a full Training section, while the myClub feature allows players to build a team of world stars, with player level systems and key players exclusive to the mode. The developer stated that more competitions, events and campaigns are constantly added, with players choosing their manager, recruiting coaches, developing playing styles and building a long-term strategy based on their specific aims.
When we reviewed the latest version back in September, we noted, “PES 2016 will only truly be enjoyed by gamers that aren't too concerned with licenses, but want a game that captures a football unlike any other”. If you’re fed up with your FPS titles and looking for something a bit different this weekend, the free version could just be what’s needed without dropping your hard earned moolah.
