If you have been on the fence about buying a one year subscription to PlayStation Plus, then now may be a good time to take the leap. Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe has just announced that it has cut its 12 month membership fee down from R899 to R674. The offer is limited though, effective from today until the 23rd of March.
It is perhaps without coincidence that the offer comes right now, with the excellent Bloodborne (review) and Ratchet and Clank (review) featuring as the two free PS4 games for this month. It’s also sweet news for South African subscribers, if you were also enviously eying that Critics Choice sale that US subscribers were privy to last week.
Also worth noting is that those who have already subscribed to the one year membership are not exempt from stacking their membership at the reduced price either.
The news comes in light of the recent announcement that as of March 2019, free PS3 and PS Vita games would not be offered as part of PlayStation Plus any longer, leaving us wondering what Sony would do to entice players to retain their commitment. Apparently, the answer is reduce the price for the membership, at least for now.
