"Hold on to something." Yes, everybody's favourite Starfleet Captain is back (sorry Picard fans). The second trailer for Star Trek Beyond recently surfaced on YouTube, and by the looks of things is not short on action. This time round, Fast & Furious director Justin Lin gets behind the camera instead of Spielberg Lite (JJ Abrams), who takes on the role of executive producer on this third film in the rebooted Star Trek franchise.

While the director has changed, the usual faces we've grown to love from the previous two films are also back, as Kirk (Chris Pine), Bones (Karl Urban), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Uhura (Zoe Saldana) and Scotty (Simon Pegg) make their returns.

As is the norm in these films, Kirk’s spacecraft of choice, the Starship Enterprise takes a hell of a beating courtesy of some new big bads (not Klingons unfortunately). The film's slated release in 22 July in the States, but before then, it will make its worldwide debut at San Diego Comic-Con come 20 July, where it will be screened on IMAX, along with an accompanying orchestra. While there's no live orchestra (or Beastie Boys) in the trailer below, it's still well worth a watch.
