Teaser trailer for Robin Hood looks nothing like the original taleBy Robin-Leigh Chetty 4 May 2018 | Categories: News
Over the decades, Hollywood has tried to interpret the story of Robin Hood a few different ways. Now they're at it again, with a teaser trailer for Robin Hood landing on YouTube recently. Unlike previous efforts, which tried to be historically accurate, this version seems to be a bit similar to the Guy Ritchie directed King Arthur film we got last year.
As such, there are plenty of explosions, death defying stunts and super slow-mos of multiple arrows being fired in succession. It also stars Taron Egerton (Kingsman) in the titular role, along with Jamie Foxx (Baby Driver), Jamie Dornan (50 Shades Freed) and Ben Mendelsohn (Ready Player One) all adding their acting chops to the mix.
From what we can tell, there is no Sherwood Forest or Merry Men, with Robin Hood rather working as a vigilante against the privileged society he's seemingly a part of. Whether or not moviegoers will be interested in this take on the character remains to be seen.
Hit play on the trailer below and see for yourself.
