Much of the movie focus this week has been on Justice League (review), which proved a far better viewing experience than many had expected. But there was still time to enjoy some new trailers for upcoming films.

The week offered a mixed bag, as Dwayne Johnson fights more monsters in the first trailer for Rampage, Hugh Jackman creates a spectacle in second trailer for The Greatest Showman, as well as two interesting horrors. Check them all out below.

Rampage

It seems like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is in every other big budget film these days. Being added to the list is Rampage, which gets inspiration from an eponymous 80s video game. The storyline might not be what people are expecting though, with Johnson playing an animal handler that discovers and looks after an albino Gorilla named George. Some government testing leads to a few radical changes in George and chaos ensues.

Release date: 20 April 2018 (United States)
Best bit: The Rock getting to grips with a helicopter.

The Greatest Showman (Trailer 2)

Hugh Jackman's latest film sees him take on the role of P.T Barnum, whose widely credited for creating the circus as we know it today. A musical just in time for the festive season, The Greatest Showman will show audiences that Jackman is more than just a pair of adamantium claws.

Release date: 20 December (United States)
Best bit: Seeing all the acts in action.

A Quiet Place

This could be one of the more interesting survival horror films to come out. Starring and directed by John Krasinski (The Office US) and utilising the talents of his real-world wife Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow), A Quiet Place is set in a post-apocalyptic world where speaking could get you killed. By what though, remains to be seen.

Release date: 6 April 2018 (United States)
Best bit: The terrifying claw marks at 0:50.

Hostiles

We're approaching Oscar season, which means a bevy of interesting films are on the horizon. One of these is Hostiles, which sees Christian Bale (Dark Knight trilogy) play a 1890s army general tasked with escorting a Cheyenne (Native American) family across hostile territory. By the looks of the trailer, Hostiles will tackle the some divisive issues in American history, while also illuminating the violence and brutality of the time.

Release date: 5 January 2018 (United Kingdom)
Best bit: Too intense to choose one scene.

The Strangers: Prey at Night

Remember The Strangers, based on a true story were a couple was terrorised by a group of unknown people wearing masks? Well this is the sequel, starring Christina Hendricks (Mad Men). It's not based on actual events like the original, but is certainly as scary by the looks of the trailer. If you're looking for a another fright fest following IT, The Strangers: Prey at Night might be the ticket.

Release date: March 2018 (United States)
Best bit: The great choice of song at 0:30.
