We’ve got a lot of faith in Alicia Vikander, having first caught our eye in the highly underrated The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and later in Ex Machina. Her turn as Lara Croft will inevitably be compared to that of the luscious Angelina Jolie, but for now let’s turn our attention to the latest trailer for Tomb Raider.

Set to land 16 March on local shores, the movie has now received its second trailer, updating us a little bit more about her father’s backstory and what might have lead to his mysterious death.

Her quest takes her to her father’s (Dominic West, The Wire) final destination – an ancient tomb set to hold powerful secrets, and a crime syndicate called Trinity looking to exploit it.

Fans of the video game will see a resemblance between the flick and the 2013 game reboot, while you can keep your eyes open for some familiar scenery since part of the filming was done in Cape Town.

Tomb Raider is directed Norwegian Roar Uthaug, whose natural disaster movie, The Wave is certainly worth a watch. Hit play for to see Lara doing some surviving.
