We love the occasional weird movie, and Vivarium looks like a good outing to Crazy Town. Tom and Gemma (Jesse Eisenberg, Zombieland & Imogen Poots, I Kill Giants) set off to view a little box in what is the newly constructed neighbourhood of Yonder. Soon they find out that they’ve actually found the Hotel California of housing developments, since once they enter, they can’t seem to leave.

As they try and figure out their predicament it appears as if there’s no way to escape, until a package arrives with a baby inside and a note telling them to raise the child in order to be released.

The director of Vivarium is Irishman Lorcan Finnegan, whose other full length title is Without Name, a movie that also looks batty by nature.

Vivarium is set to debut on 27 March 2020 in the UK, but we’re unsure if it will find a local release. Click play to see Tom and Gemma stuck in purgatory.
